at Temple Emanuel
Israeli Journalist Gil Hoffman will speak during the Greensboro Community gathering for Israel's Memorial/Independence Day (Yom Hazikaron/Yom Ha'Atzmaut) | Wednesday, April 30, at 7:00 p.m. | Temple Emanuel –
Gil Hoffman is an Israeli-American journalist and political correspondent who serves as executive director of Honest Reporting. He was previously chief political correspondent for the Jerusalem Post. A native of the Chicago area, Gil moved to Israel in 1999 serving in an artillery unit with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and later as a spokesperson for the IDF reserves. He and his family call Jerusalem home.
Prior to Gil's presentation, there will be a brief Memorial Day service remembering those who lost their lives defending Israel. Following his remarks, we will celebrate Israel’s 77th Independence Day with readings, songs, and a special reception!
Together, we move from remembrance to joy, joining our Israeli brothers and sisters and Jews throughout the world in honoring Israel’s fallen soldiers and those who have lost their lives to terrorism, as well as celebrating Israel’s independence.
Greensboro's Yom Hazikaron/Yom Ha'Atzmaut program is a partnership of the Greensboro Jewish Federation, Beth David Synagogue, and Temple Emanuel.
